Sergeant Marco Jardim

Sergeant Marco Jardim was born and raised in Madeira Island, Portugal. Prior to immigrating to Canada in 2004, he lived and worked in England.

In 2006, he graduated from the Police Foundations program at Mohawk College and in 2006 was hired as a Constable with the Waterloo Regional Police Service. He continued his studies and, in 2011, graduated with a degree in Justice Studies from University of Guelph-Humber.

Throughout his career, Sergeant Jardim has worked in several areas throughout the service, including frontline patrol and General Investigations. In January, 2020, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and assigned to the Service’s Professional Standards branch. He joined the Human Resources branch shortly after as the supervisor of Uniform Recruiting.

“I am very grateful and honored to serve among Canada’s best. Waterloo Regional Police Service is an organization big enough to develop, learn and grow, but small enough to be known by name, not just a badge number. The Waterloo Regional Police Service is an extended family and it is the people who work here that make this organization great.”

Constable Jody Isaacksz

Constable Jody Isaacksz received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Wilfrid Laurier University. She continued her studies and obtained two diplomas from Niagara College.

She joined the Waterloo Regional Police Service in February 2000 and throughout her career has spent time working in several different areas, including frontline patrol, the General Investigations unit, the Break, Enter, and Vehicle Theft unit and the Fraud unit. In 2018 she joined the Human Resources branch as a uniform recruiter.

She remembers her experiences during the application process of becoming an officer – how the recruiters and interviewers were friendly, approachable and supportive of her goals. Now, as a recruiter for WRPS, she strives to provide the same experience to new applicants.

“As a recruiter I am excited to meet new applicants and be involved in their journey to become a police officer. I enjoy sharing the endless opportunities a career in policing has to offer.”

In 1999, she received a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Punjab University, India. In 2002, she immigrated to Canada with her family.

She made Waterloo Region her home because she “admired the feeling of a small urban and culturally diverse community.”

From 2002 to 2011 she worked in the financial and customer service industry.

In 2011, she followed her childhood dream of working in law enforcement and joined the Waterloo Regional Police Service.

She has worked as a frontline officer and a school resource officer. Currently, she is assigned to the Human Resources branch as a uniform recruiter.

“My career has provided me with several opportunities, including the chance to work in a team environment and individually. It has also allowed me to help encourage anyone who calls this wonderful country home, to pursue their dreams. I am proud to be a member of the Waterloo Regional Police Service – a family where I have always felt welcomed.”
